Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

This privacy policy describes the information ClaimAlert ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit our site, how we use that information, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain English so it's actually readable. If anything is unclear, please contact us.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you fill out a consultation request form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and a short description of your situation. If you contact us by email, we collect whatever you put in that email.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers log standard request information including your IP address, browser user-agent string, the page you requested, and the timestamp. We use this to detect abuse, debug performance issues, and aggregate traffic statistics. We do not maintain detailed individual browsing profiles.

Cookies and similar technologies. ClaimAlert uses minimal first-party cookies for site preferences. Third-party advertising networks served on the site (clearly labeled "Advertisement") may set their own cookies for ad personalization and frequency capping. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your browser's "Do Not Track" setting or via the AdChoices opt-out mechanism.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry and connect you with a participating attorney if you've requested a consultation.
  • To send you occasional editorial updates about settlements you might be interested in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse of the consultation request system.
  • To improve the editorial quality and usability of the site.

Who we share your information with

If you submit a consultation request, we share your contact information and the situation description with one of our vetted participating attorneys, who will reach out to you within one business day. We do not sell your information to data brokers, marketing aggregators, or advertising networks.

We may share aggregated, non-identifying information about site traffic with our advertising partners and the public.

We may disclose information when required by valid legal process — for example, a subpoena or court order — but we will push back on overbroad or unjustified requests.

Your choices

  • You can ask us to delete the information you've submitted by emailing us. We'll honor verified requests within thirty days.
  • You can opt out of editorial email updates at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message.
  • If you live in California, the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have additional rights including the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your information. Contact us to exercise those rights.

Security

We use HTTPS for all pages and forms. Information you submit is encrypted in transit. We restrict access to submitted information to the small number of editorial and operations staff who need it.

Children

ClaimAlert is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under thirteen.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll post a notice on the homepage for at least thirty days and update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
