Tracking Your Class Action Payout Status
Where to find your claim ID, how to look up your payment status with the administrator, and what to do when a settlement check is months overdue.
Find your claim ID
Your claim ID — sometimes called a confirmation number, claim number, or case ID — was issued the moment you submitted your claim form. It appears in your confirmation email and on the confirmation screen displayed after submission. Most administrators allow you to look up your claim status using this number plus your last name or zip code.
Where to look up status
Status lookup pages live on the official settlement administrator's website. The URL was printed on the original settlement notice and should match the URL where you submitted the claim form. ClaimAlert lists the official administrator URL on every case page.
The status codes you'll see
- Received. Your claim is in the queue but hasn't been validated yet.
- Under review. The administrator is verifying your eligibility against the class list.
- Validated. Your claim has cleared eligibility checks and is awaiting final approval of the settlement.
- Pending payment. The court has granted final approval; your check or transfer is in the queue.
- Paid. The administrator has issued payment. The status page should show the payment date and method.
- Deficient. The administrator needs additional information from you before processing the claim. Respond promptly — usually within fourteen days.
- Rejected. Your claim was found ineligible. The notice should explain why and how to appeal.
What to do when a check is overdue
If your status shows "Paid" but you haven't received the check, contact the administrator within ninety days. They can usually reissue a check that was returned as undeliverable. If your status shows "Pending payment" for more than six months after final approval, check whether an appeal was filed (which can pause payouts) and contact the administrator if not.
What to do when a claim is rejected
The rejection notice should explain the reason. Most rejections are appealable through the administrator's appeals process — typically within thirty to forty-five days. If you believe the rejection is wrong and the appeal fails, a participating attorney can review your situation for free using the form on this page.
